About remote-controlled smart locks
Remote use needs a Wi-Fi model or a WiFi gateway. A lock that connects by Bluetooth only works when your phone is near the door. Each product page says which connection and app the model uses.
Common questions
Do I need a WiFi gateway to control the lock remotely?
Models with built-in Wi-Fi connect to the internet directly. For other app-managed locks, a gateway such as the G2 Smart Lock WiFi Gateway links them to the internet. Ask us to confirm compatibility with your model.
Can I let someone in while I am away?
App-managed models let you open the lock remotely or send a temporary passcode. The product page lists the app and features for each model.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The lock still opens with its fingerprint, card, passcode or key at the door. Only remote control from your phone depends on the internet.
